The power of a pause
You don’t need an hour of meditation to reset. A genuine two-minute pause - step away from the desk, breathe slowly, look out of a window - can be enough to take the edge off a busy moment.
The skill is noticing when you need it and giving yourself permission to stop, briefly, before carrying on.
Scents you associate with calm
Lots of people find a familiar scent a pleasant anchor for a moment’s pause. An aromatherapy shower steamer in the morning, or a favourite room spray or essential-oil blend at your desk, can become a small cue to slow down for a second.
Little and often
A few small resets sprinkled through the day tend to beat one big attempt to "deal with stress" at the end of it. Build a couple of these tiny rituals into your routine and they start to look after themselves.
